2010
- August: Article published in Language Magazine: "Harnessing Technology" by DynEd's president, Lance Knowles. The focus is on how technology is being used to reform English language teaching and training around the world.
DynEd conducts teacher training program for 200 teachers in Hanoi, Vietnam, as a first step in a nationwide initiative to reform English language teaching.
- June: SEAMEO's Regional Language Center (RELC) in Singapore renews DynEd license for 6th consecutive year.
- May: DynEd participates in a Brain Summit with Neuroscience Learning Co., Ltd. (NSL) in Seoul, Korea. The focus was on neuroscience research and products for language learning. DynEd's Lance Knowles made presentations on the cognitive neuroscientific theory, RHR, behind DynEd's brain-based approach to English Language learning, in particular the differences between the oral skills (listening and speaking) and oral reading.
- April: DynEd releases its oral assessment test, or Speaking Test, for low-proficiency level students for markets outside Japan, along with updates for all products. The Records Manager is upgraded to include new monthly and detailed Study Reports.
Jakarta Province Schools chooses DynEd for piloting in 30 high schools.
- February: Indonesian Ministry of National Education Office of Vocational Education selects DynEd to upgrade English skills in 600 vocational high schools as first phase. Implementation starting in July, 2010.
- January: DynEd's oral assessment test for low-proficiency level students, the ERP Test, was successfully used by a group of Japanese universities researching the oral proficiency levels of Japanese University students in a project supported by the Japanese Ministry of Education. Data analysis is now underway, and further testing will commence in March. DynEd plans to release modified versions of the test for markets outside Japan in March or April 2010.
TransPac Aviation Academy renews and expands use of DynEd in 2010 to more than 500 air cadet trainees from China. Outstanding results, both in improved English competency and in operational cost savings from 2009, credited for positive decision.
Vietnam's Tien Giang Province launches DynEd project to support K-12 schools in the province. Innovative "mobile lab" designed by local DynEd partner will be used in implementation.
2009
- December: DynEd's Lance Knowles was a plenary speaker at the GLoCALL 2009 (Globalization and Localization in CALL) Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand. His plenary, "A Brain-based Approach to CALL" presented key concepts of the RHR learning theory that guides the design and implementation of DynEd programs.
In another presentation, "Technology in Use: Learning, Teacher Training, Monitoring, and Testing," the focus was on how to better blend technology into effective language learning.
- August: DynEd launches Aviation English program with Colombian Air Force, for both pilots and controllers. Training will also commence for the Flight and Safety Center, Colombia's premier flight school.
DynEd launches its new Teacher Training course: Teaching English: A Brain-based Approach. This fully interactive course is for English teachers preparing to use DynEd courseware. It presents a blended teaching model based around DynEd's RHR learning theory.
- July: DynEd chosen for participation in a research project with Japanese universities to evaluate and develop an oral fluency test for university students.
- May: DynEd participates in a Brain Summit with Neuroscience Learning Co., Ltd. (NSL) in Seoul, Korea. The focus was on neuroscience research and products for language learning. DynEd's Lance Knowles made presentations on the theories and design behind DynEd's brain-based approach to English Language learning.
- April: DynEd's Lance Knowles was an invited speaker at the 44th RELC International Seminar in Singapore. The theme of the seminar was "The Impact of Technology on Language Learning and Teaching."
DynEd's Aviation English Program is adopted by Transpac Aviation Academy, which is a leading flight training program. Transpac prepares the next generation of professional pilots for a large number of leading airlines.
2008
- October: The Ministry of Education in French Polynesia extends the use of DynEd's Let's Go for the school year 2008-2009. They now have 26 schools using Let's Go and next year will expand the use to Australes and Sous Le-Vent Islands. Teacher training and program support was through Skillsize International, DynEd's partner in France.
- August: Article published in Language Magazine: "Mind Blocks" by DynEd's president, Lance Knowles. It explains how Recursive Hierarchical Recognition, a brain-based theory of language acquisition, is shaping the design of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) materials.
- May: DynEd participates in a Brain Summit with new partner, Neuroscience Learning Co., Ltd., in Seoul, Korea. The 2-day seminar was sponsored by Fast ForWord® and presented neuroscience research and products for language learning. In addition to neuroscientists and teachers from the US, UK, Korea, and China, DynEd's Lance Knowles made presentations on the theories and design behind DynEd's brain-based approach to English Language learning.
- April: Korea: DynEd signs an exclusive distribution agreement with Neuroscience Learning, Co., Ltd. (NSL) in Seoul. This partnership is expected to greatly increase DynEd's business throughout Korea.
China: Aviation English training begins at Beihang University (BUAA) and the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China (CAMIC), where pilots from Air China are using DynEd courseware to improve their English language proficiency to ICAO Level 4 "Operational Proficiency".
- January: DynEd opens office in Mongolia and wins bid to conduct a 2-week teacher training course for Mongolian English teachers in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. This will be in support of the government's initiative to use technology to help upgrade the English language skills of the country.
India: Hero Mindmine, a part of the Hero group, launches English Language Training Program in association with DynEd. The program is using the latest computer-based training techniques to prepare students for jobs in the service industries.
2007
- September: Vietnam Airlines completes orientation and training for DynEd's Aviation English Course. Aviation English trainers and pilots from Vietnam Airways completed a teacher training course conducted by DynEd's Lance Knowles and Ian Pearson at the Flight Training Center in Ho Chi Minh city. Once placement testing is completed, selected pilots will use DynEd's suite of courses to prepare for the ICAO Level 4 requirement.
- August: DynEd hosted its 20th Anniversary Sales Conference in California for 100+ channel partners, clients and staff from 30 countries. Featured speaker Dr. Jim Cummins of O.I.S.E. at University of Toronto presented "e-Lective," his reading/writing skills development software for second language learners to be marketed by DynEd as a complement to its award-winning suite of courses. DynEd also announced and demonstrated a new and improved Speech Recognition system to be released as an update to its courses in October.
- June: DynEd wins contract to provide English language teaching software to schools in French Polynesia.
- March: DynEd successfully completed a US AID Teacher Training contract in Sri Lanka. The contract included the installation of software and training of technicians at eight sites in Sri Lanka. DynEd's performance was rated 'excellent'.
- January: New Oriental Education and Technology Group Inc. in China announces cooperation with DynEd International, Inc. See Press Release.
DynEd officially launched its Aviation English courses in Beijing and Paris. A follow-up training seminar was held in Beijing at CAMIC.
2006
- May: DynEd had its annual European meeting, this year in Athens, Greece, to share insights and experiences with its partners. DynEd announced the upcoming release of Aviation English for Pilots, which is now in development. Two of DynEd's partners, Edgewater College from Ireland and AES from the US, introduced their Aviation expertise services to complement the course. DynEd's Turkish partner, Future Prints, was honored as being the European Partner of the Year for 2005.
- March: DynEd releases a major upgrade of its programs and award-wining Records Manager. This release, MID 2.2, includes the Path Manager, which automatically sets and manages student study paths and tests. DynEd is also releasing additional lectures for Advanced Listening and a major upgrade of English by the Numbers. Please update now!
